Nova Space Cadet is an Art Student -2026 Senior Thesis
"20-something year old scamp, Nova Space Cadet, leaves home and feels a lot of stuff in this strange and really personal mini-comic collection!"This book is my most ambitious project so far! It's about 120 pages long (with each comic ranging from 13-20 pages long, and some behind-the-scenes pages in the back.) It's based on some of my journal entries from throughout college and each comic has a different theme. Ultimately though, The project is about understanding my feelings, self-acceptance and growing up.Additionally, I made 6 figurines to go with each chapter and a custom display shelf!

Ava Thomas (they/she/he) is a cartoon, comic and 3D artist based in Boston, MA.Their work is full of bright colors and bubbly shapes and their comics usually combine autobiography with daydreams. They're really inspired by video games, childhood nostalgia and their super cool taste in music.Their main goal is to make art that makes people smile and maybe even feel less alone in this funky world.
